Kristin A. Burch – 3rd and 4th grade teacher

  • Colleges attended: SUNY Cortland – BA childhood education; SUNY Cortland – Graduate degree in Math and Science education.

I have been a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church all my life. I was an altar server as a child, became a Eucharistic Minister, played flute in the church choir, and was the Kindergarten religion education instructor from 2003-2005. I also received the Hands of Christ award through of Diocese of Rochester in 2005. I am also an alumni of St. Michael’s School. I graduated in 1998.

Community involvement: I am an active community member. I have been volunteering at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital since 1996. I volunteered at Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps as a Certified First Responder from 2002-2009. I currently play in the Penn Yan Community Band since 2004. I am also been a team captain for the Yates County Hope Walk.

3rd and 4th grade News

Week of May 27th:

3rd Grade ELA – We will be working on comprehension, vocabulary, phonics, spelling, and cursive writing.

4th Grade ELA – We will be working on comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and cursive writing.

3rd Grade Math – Our next unit is Multiplying by 1 Digit.

4th Grade Math – Our next unit is on Patterns.

3rd and 4th Grade Science – This will be taught by Mrs. Zimmer.  They are currently preparing for the 4th Grade State Test which will be on 5/29 and 6/3.

3rd Grade Social Studies – This will be taught by Mr. Prather. Their current unit is on Australia. The World’s Fair is due 6/5.

4th Grade Social Studies – We are learning about the Erie Canal.

2nd Grade Religion – Our current unit is on the 10 Commandments.

3rd and 4th Grade Religion – Our next chapter is “We Pray for Healing and Eternal Life.” Their test is on 5/31.
