Kristin A. Burch – 3rd grade teacher

  • Colleges attended: SUNY Cortland – BA childhood education; SUNY Cortland – Graduate degree in Math and Science education.

I have been a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church all my life. I was an altar server as a child, became a Eucharistic Minister, played flute in the church choir, and was the Kindergarten religion education instructor from 2003-2005. I also received the Hands of Christ award through of Diocese of Rochester in 2005. I am also an alumni of St. Michael’s School. I graduated in 1998.

Community involvement: I am an active community member. I have been volunteering at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital since 1996.  I volunteered at Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps as a Certified First Responder from 2002-2009. I currently play in the Penn Yan Community Band since 2004. I have also been a team captain for the Yates County Relay For Life since 2003.

*Math – Our test on Multiplying by 1 digit and Long Division is 5/31.

*Science – We are currently on a unit about Plants.

*Religion –  Our next chapter is on the Sacraments.

*ELA – We will be working on cursive handwriting, comprehension, fluency, spelling in cursive, irregular verbs, poetry, and typing

*4th grade Social Studies – Our next chapter is on the Civil War

*3rd grade Social Studies – Ms. King will be teaching Social Studies. They are on a chapter about South Africa. The World Fair project is due 6/13
